About Mrs. Rubino
Hello! My name is Mrs. Rubino and I teach journalism and writing to sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students at the Rumney Marsh Academy in Revere, MA. What a better way to learn the basics of English Language Arts than through producing and publishing a newspaper for students by students!
I have a Master's in Education from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a Bachelor of Arts in English and journalism from the University of New Hampshire. Currently, I'm completing some coursework to receive my Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership.
Prior to teaching, I worked as a Web editor and reporter for the Boston Herald. I still freelance for the Boston Herald today!
After I graduated from the University of New Hampshire, I worked at the Portsmouth Herald, which is a daily newspaper in Portsmouth, NH. While in college, I served as the editor-in-chief of my college newspaper, The New Hampshire.
Now I have the best of both worlds: Inspiring students to develop an appreciation for writing by publishing a newspaper with stories about their world!
